Trouble delivering all your standup bags/pouches to a retailer without collapses? Collapses are a problem for many processors. Which is frustrating since so much investment was made in producing beautiful flower and then it not get purchased because of poor appearance.
Collapsing of bags/pouches after packaging and sealing can occur at any number of points along the way from the processor the retail shelf. Often times the reason for collapses is that the bag/pouch is not fully expanded. Partial expansion is the main culprit for these collapses. Depending on the degree of partial expansion, it may happen sooner or later.
Collapses from partial expansion will occur when:
– weight of other bags on top of the bag in a bin put pressure on it
– vibration plus weight in bin during transportation
– handling at the retailer during shelf facing
